Vikings raiders attacking a small village during the late evening.
I tried to do some stylistic things in this... You will notice how everything outside of the main battle seems kinda blurry, leading to the focus point along the hull of the longboat. I really tried to use some more fun particle effects in this one, and included some vikings and corpses for good measure.
Indeed the vikings' favorite target were the British Isles, given every point was no more a day from the sea. While most viking raids were very brutal to psychologically hinder the native population to resist in arms, many time (though not all), the vikings left villages in tact; this was really more so that the villages had time to recoup their losses so that the viking would return several years later. Yes, these Scandinavians had a pension for warfare, but more so, they had mind for the business of looting... which would be useless when they killed their cash-cow. This also applied to the places were they settled/conquered. I love this picture as I love my Norwegian-German-English ancestry; the only thing I wish your painting could use is more people- other than that, its great.
AWESOME! The Vikings were one of my Favorite Warriors in history they were so . This also looks like a game can you tell me if it is and what the name is.
It was rendered in a Real-Time animation program called iClone, and some of the props were done by a rather popular artist by the name of Arteria3D. Aside from that, it was not done in a game.
I am glad you like the render though, I worked for a good while to get all the settings right.
